Aquatab is water purification tablets or is often called water disinfection tablet. It kills micro- organisms in water to prevent cholera, typhoid, dysentery and other water borne diseases. Aquatabs are used for emergency water treatment in disaster situations and for long term point of use household water treatment programmes.

Radio Sindhuli Gadhi has made in partnership with ACORAB/CIN to empower earthquake survivors for effective use of the life skill so that the daily life become easier and they can contribute to create the pressure for better service delivery mechanism, further preparedness of disaster and advocacy for appropriate disaster related issues. 

The issue of Aquatabs; was the first issue of Radio Sindhuli Gadhi under the CIN partnership program. After the earthquake there were rust in service delivery and materials distribution among Government and non-governmental organization.

Damaged of drinking water supply, lack of pure drinking water was major issues during this period in the earthquake affected area. There were rust of distributing relief materials among the Governmental and non-governmental organization.

District Wash Coordination Committee and other I/NGO were distributed Aquatabs in the earthquake affected area with out providing knowledge and skills to the users. It resulted the Aquatabs totally useless, due to the lack of its proper use; community people stored it, some of them threw and most of them didn't know what was that?.

Community Journalist encourage people to have conversation on children and health issues during the tea time and and they collected the issue of Aquatabs.

While the radio program on Aquatabs tuned from Radio Sindhuli Gadhi, It became a big issue in the district. District Wash Coordination Committee immediately called a meeting and give circular to all Village Wash Coordination committee to ensure proper use of Aquatabs before distribution.

After that District Wash Coordination Committee conducted the proper use of Aquatabs in the earthquake affected area. Now Government and non-government agencies who works on this sector provide knowledge for its properly use during the Aquatabs distribution. Now people in the affected area are using the Aquatabs.
